A Whispered Chill

"Poetry" by Alphonse Mucha

years of choice in front of thee;
let not dark knights entice thy will,
savor the voice, a whispered chill.

  6. So much meaning in four lines. A poem for now and for medieval times.

  8. I love every bit of this one, Laurie--the old-fashioned pronoun that lends a prophetic feel; the couplet form that makes me think of a wise proverb; the powerful, visceral image of "a whispered chill." All good!

  9. Agree with Nico on the use of the pronoun.
    This has all the fervency of a prayer, Laurie & is in the heart of parents everywhere!

  13. That dark knight is pretty persistent and parents' advice is not heeded so much as is their example and by their ability to let go. A great feel to the poem.
