Don't Come Looking for Respect

Rhetorical is the question - may you
Enter? - Why of course. Not. You’re
Standing at the front door like a
Pompous ass- has it been that long?
Even the neighbor’s dogs remember how
Callous you are. What? No respect?
Truth is, you’ll never earn it from me.

  1. Wow! If the neighborhood dogs have issue with this person, then he'd better get out of town quick!

  8. Terse, to the point, the very thing one should say, in that situation.

And... An acronymic poem! That's for NaPoWriMo! And a tribute to the queen of R-E-S-P-E-C-T herself!

Don't you love it when a poem serves mutliple purposes? Excellent fun!

  9. Really well written, Laurie. The sentence separation and pacing pack a punch equal to the message.

  15. I am SO hearing a bit of Gloria Gaynor "I Will Survive" (a huge disco hit in the late '70's)

Just love the sass in this!
