Notes from the island

mesmorizing waves
ripple through the waning pain
window to my soul

They own the island
in lines they form like soldiers
soaring freedom, these gulls I see.

    I love the image of gulls in lines like soldiers. I remember visiting Galveston once as I child and catching a huge fish! I'd love to go back some day.
