Meditation, continued

It is imperative to take action
when you feel distraction.

Find an oasis, a place to chill;
mindful thoughts felicitous fill.

Replace garbage, negativity
with harmonious images of the sea.

Think of the waves as lullabies,
salty air absorbing the lies.

Reward yourself when you're done;
an ice cream cone under the sun.

An oasis on the sea would be perfect!

Philosophy well expressed! I do like the idea of getting rid of negativity.....and a reward of ICE CREAM is always a good thing! Smiles.

I find the ocean very meditative, even when there isn't any ice cream, although I wouldn't turn down a treat!

Remember this song? "La mer, qu'on voit danser,,,des reflets d'argent."

I guess I need to think about the sea a lot. My life is rather full of garbage and negativity at this juncture.

Would love to meditate by that ocean view and ice cream w/M&M's after wouldn't be bad afterwards either!

It's good to reward onself. And with a bowl of ice-cream - good idea.

Laurie,

A fine and uplifting poem, which seeks to see the balance required in life...I truly feel the quiet oasis is a necessity, especially for a writer!!!

Eileen

Thank you for your comment at my Blog. Much appreciated:)

Writing on my Kindle is dangerous so I had to wait till now.

I started my morning with a power walk by the river. Finished with a 200 yard dash. So there with you about creating an oasis, clearing out the garbage.

Always good reading, good vibe here.

No matter what is going on, I only have to step upon the shore for it all to fall away, my heart lulled by the everness of the waves. Loved this , Laurie.

So clever ... as after you take action, you get a distraction ... that perfect ice cream cone !

The ultimate reward ~~ hurry, hurry before it melts!

The sea has that consistent pull. It is as though she says "Come back home and refresh yourself with me." I am not sure what she says about the ice cream though. She is always a constant source of poetic inspiration, as you have found.

Printing this out for my daughter, whose room motif is the ocean,
as it helps with her anxiety, as I suspect this poem will as well.

Me? I just loved it.

Oh yes, lovely advice! (But I'll wait for summer.)

A hot summer day, the sea and an ice cream cone--the perfect summer trifecta! Your poem seems to have a ebb and flow like the ocean too :-)

Oh yes, grounding with an ice cream cone is a very important step! fun read

Reading this I think a child would have a great shot at fixing the world's problems. Here's to ice cream stands instead of political machines and lemonade glasses to catch the sunshine
