You parked the antique car
and kissed me, aqua
eyes lifted
one deflated heart
to the heavens
where I danced
on moonbeams.
100 balloons,
a blissful high
long enough to trust again
until you confessed~
I was too far gone.

oh, no...i was enjoying the lifting feeling of that wet kiss...then all my balloons popped at once in the close....sad.
I love your imagination!
Exquisite poem, I love that rise to the skies!
one deflated heart...after kiss...sounds so melancholic...and then waiting...will you trust..love this little poem
Too far gone...me too...
Lovely read, and I sense if only he offered one more time, to be kissed by aqua .... too far gone, would melt away.
Sad. I loved the way you presented it. Good writing.
Sweet innocent energy of love and pop! went all the balloons. I loved the style. So easy to follow. And great job with imagery too. Would love to read more from you. :)
Wonderful!
There is no letting us down gently
in that situation! thanks-
Shame!... but great!
There seemed to be a lot going ever that smoothly until the end. It put a gulp in the throat! Nicely Laurie!

Sad but lovely write.
So you spent time counting balloons? I'd rather count the kisses!!! :)
I agree with Jinksy. It's kisses every time.
100 balloons, a blissful high ~~ sounds just about right! Loved this.

Oh no, ain't gonna be any of that too far gone stuff this time! Come on now, get your cute little tookis back in the backseat, Aqua.
You nailed it at the end. Loved it. Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
That's what kisses will do..lyrical, and true!!
Aw, those sweet, passionate highs! Never wanting them to end, never wanting those balloons to pop! Beautiful capture, Laurie!
That was me in the early 1980's. This was great and it broke my heart.
Hi, I enjoyed your poem too. The imagery is so beautiful. I too felt the free fall of a confession too late and what must be a broken heart to follow.
cool balloon feeling, including the pop!
I really liked this...even the let-down at the end.
