Is this a battle
of the sexes, or maybe
perhaps breeds?
A one-dog-up-man-ship
vying for all of me?
In my lap,
a fluid harvest
awaits, treats
cultivated
especially
for each one
or so you'd think
by the way
they act
as jealous as
a teenage crush.

Ha, Laurie, this made me laugh. I am sitting right now with two dogs on my lap; and I would like another cup of coffee but don't get one because it would disturb the dogs. LOL. Dogs rule, it seems!!
haha esp after watching your video yesterday...lol...they just want all your love you know...smiles.
LOL this made me smile you could picture them fighting for your affections
Oh I know this. My world would be so sad without my animals, 2 dogs and 3 cats, one kitty the grounds keeper outside- and he's almost a watch dog- be protector! We now have a new tiny little poodle mix about 4 pounds from my daughter- because sadly some hubbies (hers) has not enough dog lover inside of them- so bring that doggy over!
Same at our house, too!
It's important to have a pecking order..and always nice to have a doggy to cuddle..warm words for this cold day..jae
LOL.... Luckily I just have the one but, if he wants to be on my lap, he will be...lol
Thanks for the chuckles
Ha ha ha ... this was hilarious !!!
Yes, I know the situation - to be anchored in place by possessive beasties...
Jealous? Dogs get Jealous? Sad. Those teenage crushes get vicious if one talks to the wrong person!
Jealous? You bet they are.
I hope the fluid isn't dog slobber...
one dog, two cats... one cat is not "lappy"...but the dog (who is 45 pounds but still believes she is lap sized) and the other kitty, most certainly work the room (the room on my lap!)
This gave me a big smile. :)
My favorite:

I hate being licked by dogs. Bleck.
They certainly do vie for attention!
Excellent observations--one sees this kind of behavior across breeds, and even species! Great work.
Nico is right, this behaviour can definitely cross species. We had two cats and a dog, and it was amorous bedlam at times.
