In Your Arms

The Promenade, 1918, by Marc Chagall
Pic prompt courtesy of TheMag173

I kited through life,
flew to the moon
where my wishes came true--

a pink castle
within dark green hues
 angling envy
like points of view,
mankind's
 magnanimity
as visible as fire.

smiles...def marching to the beat of a different drum is not a bad thing at all...the one pink among all the green...there is freedom in that to me...

Kited, yeah. Crazy in love, know that, too. :-)

You think they live in the pink castle after having been to the moon?
Fun and playful !

This is a little gem (every line a winner!) which exactly catches the flair of the Chagall. My two favourite lines are the first and the last. Superb.

kited to the moon and back...lovely.

The allegory between your 'kited' line and Chagall's painting is brilliant and beautifully thought provoking.

I so wanted to comment on the pink building in the background but failed to incorporate it. You did it so easily here. Good job!

Somehow you caught the essence of Chagall with these words. Well done.

'within dark green hues angling envy' - delicious.

I'm still thinking about this one, Laurie. 'Kiting through life' doesn't sound so bad, but being tethered to a man and not flying free feels constraining ... hmm. I'm still thinking about this one ...

Angling envy

I like that sound of that!

I would like to "kite" through life to have all my dreams come true too!

so well written....

"I kited through life" love that line. We often center in on man's lack of generosity. I like the view from your kite much better. :)

"I kited through life"... I see that grabbed the attention of others as well.

I like your thinking, and your style with words, like kited

I loved this imagery; it also made me think about the juxtaposition of the freedom of flying so high above tempered by the realisation of what you can see from this new vantage point. Thought-provoking and beautiful

"Kite" used as a verb is a nice idea.

You did a wonderful job of responding to this prompt, and I was kited right into the artwork!
