It's in the Air

when darkness falls I hear the calls
rustling through the breeze I see the trees
a candle's flame enticement calls my name
nostalgic pine of Christmastime divine

Laurie,

All those items which evoke and emotion within us all.
Pine cones and needles, mean that the festive season is not so far away!!
Still waiting for summer here in England!

Autumn's just arrived and Christmas is already in the air. The power and strong pull is matched by no other. Great!

Beautiful, Laurie. I agree .....too early to think about Christmas, but beautiful nonetheless.

I think it's too early as well, it's just where my muse took me... perhaps b/c as I was shopping for my daughter's birthday I came across a specialty shop putting their Christmas stuff out.

I chuckled at the comments, Laurie, but I like where your muse took you.

A nice thought though I like to stretch summer as long as I can.

A tree by any other name would be decorated with ornaments and have gifts beneath.

Very nice internal rhymes and while I was surprised by the Christmas theme in August, it was a perfect touch -- Christmas Evening.

To my mind came the image of a lit Christmas tree, and I thought: It does look like a flame on a candle, doesn't it? Don't know if you meant that for certain, but there it was.
