Beautiful, Laurie. I agree .....too early to think about Christmas, but beautiful nonetheless.
I think it's too early as well, it's just where my muse took me... perhaps b/c as I was shopping for my daughter's birthday I came across a specialty shop putting their Christmas stuff out.
Suddenly I'm transported from my 90F summer to Christmas time.
A wonderful respite in the midst of our heat wave and drought!

Very nice internal rhymes and while I was surprised by the Christmas theme in August, it was a perfect touch -- Christmas Evening.
To my mind came the image of a lit Christmas tree, and I thought: It does look like a flame on a candle, doesn't it? Don't know if you meant that for certain, but there it was.
every day should remind us of Christmas, no?
