Hearts of Gold

My children (ages 2, 6 mos and 4) Christmas 2003

It's in the eyes of children everywhere
the ecstasy a rainbow to their soul
filled with awe and wonder on this eve
when miracles give birth to hearts of gold.

@laurie kolp

Thanks to all of you for the gift of joy you've given me this year. I hope you have a golden weekend full of miracles and ecstasy!

A lovely piece Laurie.
My wife often tells me I'm just a big kid - probably why I enjoy Christmas so much!

Beautiful sentiment expressed, Laurie. (And cute kids!) I will think about the prompt during the day.

Laurie,
I loved it, short and so full of meaning! My favorite line is:
"miracles give birth to hearts of gold"

Happy Holidays to you n' yours~

Nothing shows us the wonderment of possibility more than the eyes of a child on Christmas morning. Nice one.

I'm afraid I can't say it any better than those who've commented before me but did want to chime in with my two cents and say how much I enjoyed this gem ... the kids are of course adorable and you've captured the essence of Christmas with your poem - have a great one Laurie - as always it's been a pleasure sharing some of the same poetry sites with you.
