Night Owl

At night when all is quiet and still
and darkness surrounds the moon,
an owl begins its nightly task
a sound like bugs in June.
Scatters and hoots are seldom heard
as everyone rests silently,
but the owl works on from dusk to dawn
writing and drawing peacefully.
