Prompts:
BT- "It’s not true that"
NaPoWriMo- twinning of opposites
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Really?
It’s not true that…
echoes in the night bequeath my weary soul
heinous misconceptions haunt your memory
charcoal burns a valley through our love
thorns prick holes within my bleeding heart
…and I don’t miss you.

How 'Really?' turns on itself into its opposite is fabulous, and I read a few times as the dangling lines of poetry turned like a shiny ornament, a mobius strip, reflecting the deeper heart.
Two sides to every story... though one is often exaggerated...
Great write!
The twist makes the reader ponder. Nice device, Laurie.
Some relationships end up that way. Nicely written, Laurie.

How to tell it like it isn't. Your message came through.
A clever way to arouse expectations and then turn them on their heads.
Thanks for your kind words... I truly appreciate it!
When I grow up, I want to be you :-)
Another great one. You are so talented.
Very clever. I love the twist.
Really. : )
This was and intriguing write. I loved it.
Yeah, clever stuff!
This can be read two ways: I'm over it or I'm in denial. Clever construct and very well written. Vb
Fantastic! That last line is marvelous!
Laurie, stark images, great contrasts, and the back and forth from title to final line... wonderful work! Amy

I love how you quietly force the reader to go back and reread the words. A wonderful verbal puzzle,
Elizabeth
I enjoy the way this poem lends itself to the kind of heartbreak one lives with or the kind of heartbreak left behind in memory...
I like the two very different language styles sandwiched together. Heightens the ideas in the poem.
Your blog is looking very lovely these days girl and that's a beautiful big of poetry ...
