My Stronghold

Cinquain Form:

Timber
Ever reaching
I carved my heart on you
Will you take me in your branches?
Stronghold

Tanka form:

A heart carved with love
Reaching out I long for your
Everlasting warmth
With strong arms titillating;
Leaves me satisfied

Emotion well expressed.

The more I read, the more I like a 5 line poem. This tanka gets straight to the heart of the matter, with all the emotion intact.

Laurie,

It was easy to sense the tree hug from your warm words.

Tanka was my favorite--more mood I think, but both were succinct and well written, and just plain interesting.

Thank you. I actually added the conquain later since that was what the prompt called for. I guess I had tanka on my mind, though.

Dear Laurie,

Thanks for taking the time to plant another sapling in my little spinney. I love your responses to the sweeping branches of the tree.

I like the cinquain "Timber" best, but love them both, excellent.

I like the cinquain very much - tight and succinct.
