A letter to a swim coach who won't let the kids rest for two solid hours; just lap after lap after lap. They need a break, which is why I chose "rest" but play works, too.

This is sweet. Sadly, a baby whale died on the beach at White Rock yesterday - trapped in fishing nets. Sometimes it is a dangerous sea.

I must admit your sketches reminded me of the same thing Sherry mentioned: a young whale died on the beach of my hometown. Humanity can be so cruel to sea creatures, but never you.

Wonderful verse and I so relate to the plea. I really hated seeing ambitious adults pushing kids so hard.
nice...i like your art to go with it...and my son is going through swim lessons right now too...i do know the type like the coach thoguh..
Lovely drawings..I hate that a coach pushes children too hard...success is not in how many laps one can take around the pool...it is in their joy of the swim.
Sometimes coaches seem to forget they are kids!
