Skeleton Ghosts

Mommy says I'm being silly
that there are no such things as ghosts
but I say this house is haunted
and I know because...

she comes out at night
from the dead, a skeleton;
no sheet like Casper does she wear
only bones that pop and creak.

I sneak beneath the covers
but her cackling follows me;
hahahahaha- I scream!
A light flashes through the night,

Mommy says I'm being silly
that there are no such things as ghosts
but I say this house is haunted
and I know, I just know. It is.

You captured the voice of the young child so well - they say that young children are better tuned to the supernatural... who knows?

Children see and know things that we adults can't (or don't want to)know! You capture it well here.

Ah yes, one does know when some place is haunted! Scary indeed.

Yes, I too believe children and animals see different than we do!
Creepy good! :D Well Done~

Maybe Mommy herself is scared that's why she says there are no ghosts :) The cackling scared me.

Children are really instinctive by nature and you've really connected well with that quality of a child in your poem. You've also described the scary woman well. Bone-chilling.

EEK! I have heard or read that children have a sense of things unseen. Scary!
