Before you immerse yourself in a padlocked bathroom
Attempt to flush false emotions
And ponder valid
Reasoning
With tears
Just
Wait
Just
Wait
And think;
Is it worth
The acid, dry heaves?
Is the pain worth the consequence
Twenty years later, the loss of enamel on teeth?

nice...i like how you answer the question in the title...smiles...and you are right...it is not...but many of us put ourselves through it...
I applaud you executing a reverse fib. I'm still pondering how to do a straight-ahead one, lol. LOVE the content, very much. And it is good advice, speaking as a person who has barely any enamel left! I now know what the expression "long in the tooth" really means!
I really like this especially "Is the pain worth the consequence", everything worth getting is worth the pain. Excellent
Needs to read and discussed by every teen... twenty-something... athlete... dancer... perfectionist who works so hard to achieve or maintain "that" shape.
Excellent fib here..with a serious point made as well!
I think the verse form helps in emphasizing the point - No it's not!
I agree. No it's not.
Scary topic, but very nicely told. I think that it would help start discussions.
I don't know about Bulimia, I thought my teeth were bad on account of throwing up a few pints of bitter from many nights out at the pub in my youth. I didn't have time to lock the bathroom door.
Amen, sister.
Purged emotions find another way to rear their ugly head~
Scary!
Well done...
Sometimes it's the mundane reasons that keep us from doing the insane.
No, it's not. Good advice! :)
You have said so much in so few words...Every young girl needs to hear its message.
A part always knows how much the acid erodes you inside and out..and yet in some way it sustains you..it is a process..finding the answer..bold words..
Such good advice. Structured really well too.
this came a little too close to my bones for me, but I can tell you that you've captured it really well Laurie
So true! And kudos for the reverse fib!
I'm such a dummy when it comes to poetry forms, yet you seem to master every one with ease!
Laurie,
Serious issues managed very well into this fibanacci form...
Many messages within.
Eileen:)
I love the question being answered in the title. Great poem :)
many great lines here....thanks for sharing
your words ring true and poetic.
Reverse fib that works so well, even on a sad topic.

Oh, I liked the way you turned the form on its head - and gave the answer before the question - although one has to read the poem to 'get' the title.
ah! not at all not at all..we often tend to signify the insignificant! loved the fib form!
I was there, many years ago. Excellent post, thank you.
