Watch the light transfer
colors explode, begin to dance
across the beige carpet
up the walls like a doodle
waltzing on the ceiling
and back down again
A rainbow awaits: follow it.
No need to grope for peace,
let the prism's magnificence
wipe away brutal fear.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Think of nothing
but the light,
3WW ~ brutal, grope, transfer
The prism definitely has a hypnotic effect, I think. Looking at the dancing colors IS calming. I am reminded of the effect of 'disco balls.' Well penned!
Yes, I love this hypnotic dance~
I get anxiety and this is calming and fun to read~
Light and breath must be the ultimate cure for anxiety..loved the shape of your poem also..
Watching the colors of a prism dance on the wall is indeed calming; takes me back in my mind to a simpler place and time. I agree with Jae Rose in that I like the shape of the poem... it trickles down to one word, to simplicity where we just breathe and allow ourselves to live in that moment.
Innovative and rather elegant...
there is something so soothing to just watching that light play on the carpet....the little rainbows...little puddles of colored hope....very nice...
A meditation to practice,,,beautifully captured,,,right down to the crystal's form,,,enjoyed this very much,,,
Breathe. Just breathe. This is the ultimate cure, isn't it, Laurie? And perhaps a strong yoga practice.
good advice, very hypnotic
A wonderful, soothing write.
Such a lovely write --- very serene. Hypnotic, yes, and in a very positive way! Nicely presented with that photo, too.
colors explode, begin to dance - What a great image and with those lines breathe in, breathe out , think of nothing - really great. Loved it
The doodle dancing on the ceiling grabbed me! Lovely piece of writing with a wise message!
I love the way this breaks at
"A rainbow awaits: follow it."
Very well done.
This is just wonderful.
Playing with light who has time for anxiety?
Just the ticket for this prompt.
I think we all want to be mesmerized. It is as though that some secret truth will thus be revealed.
Brings me peace as I read about these prisms. Love it
Breathe in, breathe out and keeping the thoughts on the light - both good cures!
I love the poem. What a beautiful cure for anxiety.
Definitely curing my anxiety--love the concrete form too! This was a very soothing write :-)
very interesting and soothing!GOD<3U
One works at it. The cure for anxiety is always the extension of care. Yes, it often is hypnotic too. Nicely Laurie!
I needed a dance of the mind just now. You gave it me. Much thanks.
Prism lights dance...yes and I love them too. So calming as the 4 o'clock sun makes the small lights dance on my living room walls
Calming and soothing indeed, just like a meditation. I love the visual shape of your poem and how it ends with the most important word ... now. Live in the moment :)
My father could not "see" light. He could only feel the sun on his arms or face--to know it was daytime.
(Of course, he had a braille watch, but no AM/PM on that!)
Now--he sees it ALLLLLLL!
A fantastic guided meditation
mesmerizing!a well done take on
these difficult words.
I felt less anxious just reading this :)
The poem is definitely hypnotic.
Sounds lie a wonderful cure!
I have one hanging in living room window that catches
the sun from the back yard. You have described its calming effect so well.
Love it Laurie...it was so hypnotic...It was like a verbal disco ball :)
The common word is hypnotic. As with the rest, I'm under your spell. A brilliant poem.
