What do you see...
unkempt beds
filled with weeds
cruel and obtrusive,
ghastly eyesores
in need of upkeep
or
flowerbeds over-
flowing with dandelions
as hearts to pick
and make a wish
for Valentine's Day?

Sure, the second one :)xx
I'm all for making a wish for Valentine's Day, Laurie.
Well, Laurie, you are talking to poets here, so the valentine for sure--but I think this would bend most of the more orderly hearts. You and your garden are Beauty. I see the balance in your structure and the bright gold of possibility.
you have to take care of your beds....just saying...ha....
and it takes effort and intension that is for sure....
happy valentines laurie
I guess I would be pretty impressed if my Valentine went to all the trouble to bring me a bouquet of dandelions, considering all the snow we have...
Reminds of the proverb The one who looks for weeds finds weeds likewise the one who looks for flowers . . . well! :) Happy Valentines Day!
Of course the second would always be the best..with imagination the first can always be gussied up!
Oh yes, lets make a wish.
The second!
This was great.
I love them both! But I think the second captures the heart fo the week! Blessings
Oh, the dandelions, cheerful little hearts!
I love the second one 'dandelions as hearts to pick' is a wonderful line.
I like to think I see the second. Usually some coffee and breakfast though help to get me there!
I can see the flower beds. And they look beautiful.
lovely flowerbeds overflowing with happiness...
They are flowerbeds to me, beautiful like your words.
It is all about perspective isn't it? Very nice and well said Laurie :)
luv the second one; have a nice Wednesday
much love...
Lovely Laurie. I'm all for wishes for Valentines!
i'm going for two, though went for 3 (prompts), Laurie! ~
Some people hate dandelions, but not me. They are good for multiple reasons and so is this poem.
I'll take the second please :) I love a nice garden but find it a chore. So any type of flower that blooms is alright with me!
... the eye of the beholder, right, Laurie? Nicely penned, tight and forthright. I like it.

Beauty is everywhere. Otherwise why do children pick flowering weeds for their mothers?
Laurie,
Love the possibilities within each form of 'seeing the love.' I particularly liked the dandelions. Something special in that simple act of sharing.
Eileen:)
Clever way of meeting 3 prompts simultaneously! Wonderful take Laurie!

Beauty being: all in the eye of the beholder - few things make the point better than dandelions. Smiles.
the child within only sees the second verse. Lovely Laurie!
the wish will be carried by the wind .............
Lovely words well connected to all the prompts
LOL! When they are in my flower beds, they're weeds. When they're in fields they're glorious!
really enjoyed this...i felt that the unkept beds and such could be quite symbolic of a dried up relationship.

perspective guides the mind....
It really depends on the way we want to look isn't it?
Happy Valentine's Day Laurie
Ahh...I like the second happy heart for sure♥
Beautiful lines, Laurie. :)
The second one of course but beauty lies in the eyes of the beholders and even unkempt patch looks beautiful in its wild growth.
Many weeds are beautiful and usefu! :)
As always, perspective is everything.
Surely the second one ~ Happy weekend Laurie ~
