Insomniac am I
Nightly I face this demon
Spellbound, I count in tens
Ominous are your eyes of indigo
Melting my lips in this sensual dream
Never fulfilled, deeply mistaken
I miss your arousal, I
Awaken-- insomnia

Awwww bitter sweet but, lovely.
I miss having someone to snuggle up and cuddle with. ~Sighs.
Dreams ... my only impediment to sound sleep. Dreamless nights are good ... Sounds like you too.
LOVE the sensual dreams and, yeah, um, er, arousal. :)
Nice and flowing....til the end~
Even old ladies like me occasionally have a hot dream!
well there are some things worth staying awake for you know...smiles.
Lovely write, Laurie. BTW . . . if anyone before me noticed, they didn't mention it. You know what I mean!
The wrong sort of awakening, with no arousal! lol
The insomnia of sensuality. Love it.
a fundamental feeling, well captured here.

Some nights my dreams are so exhausting that I might as well stay up - but rarely do they bring this kind of emotion with them. Love the shape of the poem - an arrow?

Really liked this! Nice writing Laurie.
I haven't actually tried counting in tens, but I can relate to everything else here. A fine poem.
Bittersweet; my son has this and it is so hard to watch~ Great write!
If you ever miss Insomnia, give me a shout and I'll let you borrow mine for a night or two... *smile* Beautifully written Laurie!
