Peaceful solitude
or colorless seclusion?
Is happiness on the horizon
or is it an illusion?
My path, narrowed with age,
grows clear-cut and luminous.
For experience has shown me
I'm not alone in loneliness .

Nice. And your site is beautiful. made me want to hit FOLLOW all over again. :)
Beautiful, it flows and rhymes very well. Beautiful verse!
Sometimes I welcome the 'alone' time, to just ...be.
Not to be anything to anyone, who has an 'I want' or an 'I need' you to...
I used to feel lonely, not anymore.
This is lovely prose, shows much growth and inner peace, too.
Thanks for visiting me :)
I love my alone time; maybe because I don't get much of it. I might feel differently if I were alone all the time!
Laurie,
Lovely words, which capture the positive side of loneliness. I do enjoy my alone time too!

I think it takes us some time to figure out that loneliness is a feeling and that we can move and change our perspective. You say it well,
Elizabeth
Such a lovely message. Thanks, Laurie.
And I would agree...
Really well done! Excellent ending.
Simply beautiful. A very lovely reminder of how our perspective can change our perceptions, how we feel, even about ourselves. Thank you.
Laurie, you are definitely right. You are NOT alone in loneliness.
this is beautiful and so true.
i NEED alone time. i always have. but that doesn't mean i don't get lonely sometimes.
beautifully written! ♥
Indeed, the lonely have many like-minded companions but they seldom meet.
Beautifully written, Laurie. We all experience loneliness but some can appreciate it while others may be destroyed by it.
I think it is that we find ourselves alone, when in sadness. It just happens. But it is true, loneliness doesn't have to equal sadness. I loved what you wrote.

'I am not alone in loneliness'- Very simple, hard-hitting and beautiful.
"My path, narrowed with age,
grows clear-cut and luminous."

Nicely written. And I like the revelation at the end. Very wise.
