The Taproot

If I should die think only this of me;
a bird's eye view brings life serenity.
Attach an open mind and loving heart
to do God's will a prayer each morning start
(with forgiveness as the taproot is the key).

From Peace to Chaos

A tranquil retreat--
on glassy water diamonds shine
birds, katydids, frogs sing
"Gucci" the alligator lurks
"Mr. Turtle" paddles doggy-style.
He finds a target, this angry wasp
and in a split second
lands on fresh, juicy skin
~bzzz~
AAHHH! MOM!
Tears are a waterfall,
peace becomes lost in chaos.

Sunday Offerings/ 6-26-11

For the Sake of Grace

It all began to take shape not long
after his business trip--
the copper-breath kisses he planted
on the surface of her wanting lips
like a mechanical dippy bird,
the growing silent treatment
within an ivy dream-like haze,
the flitting thoughts of swarming bees.
Inhaling pepper sand, she took the plunge
cornered him in the shade of beseeching eyes
asked him who the hell Grace was
and why he called out her name
in the heavy stillness of night’s embrace.

  Rocketed to the Fourth Dimension

Floating in the sea of space
my worries drift through time.
Medusa lost in orbit,
I prey on heaven’s climb.

Dare I trust this leap of faith,
release all inhibitions?
Pride cometh before the fall
trailing~ euphoric conditions.

Vacation Bible School?

Through stained glass windows

he sits.

Music proclaiming God’s love

rocks the house.

All he hears

are garrulous kids

teasing him

on

his

birthday.

God must be running errands.

Stormy Nights Forgotten

moods
so heavy they hurt
they cloud reality
blow the time away
a tornado from the blue
sprawled out on the dirty floor
she fuels her moods with songs
melancholy, broken, dark
songs of lost loves, cheating liars
over and over again
she sits
she listens
she rocks
moods
the violent storms flood
blinding rain, tears of pain
an emotional balloon is she
until the hurricane hits
turns thunder
spurns rage
bursts
pops
eyes, those eyes
gray
clouds
they know
dusk turns to dark turns to dawn
sunshine peaks through, cheer
offers hope after the rain
the pain last night forgotten
she wonders why her head hurts
so heavy
these moods

Jingle Poetry Potluck Prompt: Lies, Deception and Misrepresentation!!

Monkey Cage

You take drama apart,
pull it piece by piece
like sticky monkey bread
oven-fresh goo.
This! and That! and Oh,my God!
Cinnamon temptation
so sinful, deceiving
flying sugar high
whirlybird whim.
Then splash! You crash!
Stinky muddy mess,
a monkey with no bread.

Jingle Poetry Potluck

The Wrath of Nature Shatters Lives

Powerful winds can desiccate
like speeding cars accelerate;
hurricanes don’t sympathize.
The wrath of nature shatters lives.

Harmless eddies masquerade
and grow into a great brigade;
tornadoes leave no time for lies.
The wrath of nature shatters lives.

Earth, the bedrock of our home,
often becomes our catacomb;
earthquakes destroy all alibis.
The wrath of nature shatters lives.

Transforming waves can lure and thrill
oblivious to man’s free will;
tsunamis haunt and victimize.
The wrath of nature shatters lives.
