Jiggles and Dimples

Early's thighs jiggled like Jell-O
as she stomped down the empty beach,
a matutinal stroll with quahogs and such
turbulence for those out of reach.

A pretermitted heiress
Early ballooned within a year,
declivitous her life's quality
in a dimpled derriere.

Prompt inspiration: 3WW (early, jiggle, quality), Poetic Asides (empty)

We Write Poems (use the dictionary):
matutinal- (adj) early in the morning
pretermit- ignore, neglect, overlook, or omit
declivitiuos- descending; downward slope
quahog- a thick-shelled, edible clam of North American Atlantic coasts

Very witty! I was very pleased to see the definitions at the bottom of the piece or I think I would have been reaching for my dictionary

Gloriously hilarious - and literate too!

That's a funny one! Even before you look up the words! Love the picture of the cardinal! I had one who pecks on my office window for days and then decides to attend once again to his fatherly duties!

I know too well what a dimpled derriere is, but please, a quahog? c'est quoi?

Fun use of the prompt.

Thanks, Viv... I added quahog to the definitions (its a clam).

Wonderful words. They're just fun to say aloud. And such fun to have a humourous poem. I grinned all the way through.

Clever and funny. And you gave me a new Lexulous word: quahog. I like my q words!

Laurie, Quahog is also the town where 'The Family Guy' (famous for the precocious Stewie) takes place. Trivia is my passion...

Love what you did with the prompt, and thanks for providing definitions. My favorite part was the "dimple derriere," because I took a good look in the mirror and saw a bit of cottage cheese in those nether regions this week!

Great stuff. Amy

What's wrong with a dimpled derriere? This was fun and tongue twisting to read.

Thanks... mine's getting that way, but such is the gravity descension of life.
