FLAME

I watch the flicker of the flame
mesmerizing and methodical,
dancing to the melody
of my heart.
The warm soft candle’s glow
arouses and awakens
emotions I‘ve had
torn apart.
Yet I feel the light
comfort and console
as I close my eyes
and start to pray.
The warmth, the glow,
and ease of emotions
uncovers new hope-
this is God’s way.
