Dispersed No More

Verdun, 1917 by Felix Vallotton
Coutesy of The Mag 143

Black and white spotlights,
ocher, midnight blue
over fields of golden wheat-
-geometric fate, the weight
of clouded views
converge.

the weight of clouded views...really like that bit laurie, it brings a sense to the nice visual...the night, the spotlights, the fields...had to be scary as well back then, the spots and what they were looking for...

Such a sad subject but, brilliant write.

Yes! Clouded views did converge, tragically. Classy writing Laurie.

I like that you wove in the spotlights. They are too compelling to ignore. And I LOVE the words ocher in your poem. Don't know why, just do.

I really like your take on this...you took the beauty from something ugly...not the painting rather the image it represents
