Ice Breaker

Stanley Kubrick for Look Magazine, 1949
Pic prompt courtesy of The Mag174

In the doorway
where she stood

a blur of self-doubt
masked assuredness,

heat lightning a brief flash
pursuant task-- confidence.

Back straight, chest back
each breath a forward step

sipping courage, no regret
she offered him a light.

Coyness. You need to put that aside if it means having the chance to know a man who might be your true love.

Lovely interpretation

Ah, those were the days--when anybody worth knowing carried something to smoke and/or a way to ignite a fire.

Nothing like a woman bold enough to approach what she wants. Love it!

So that was how it all started. It went on to big things, maybe even marriage! Nicely Laurie!
