Swallowed in sin
bereft of moral decency
all inhibitions stripped
black silk like quicksand
left and right, she tries to turn away
resist the undying urge no one else understands
until Lady Godiva spreads her cunning charms on them
they can't resist temptation after that first luscious taste-

An interesting way of handling that picture, Laurie. I like your take.
Yes, a restrained take on a picture that probably offends the Politically Correct who are determined to be offended by absolutely everything. They'll probably scrutinise your Death by Chocolate very carefully in the hope of detecting racist overtones.
Loads of fun...and calories.
death by chocolate is a great ice cream...just saying...ha...nice laurie...
black silk like quicksand
And in she slips!
Death by Chocolate is a delicious dessert. I added the link to the recipe in my poem.
Death by chocolate - lol, what a way to go! Nice take on the Mag.
Awesome take on this Magpie. She seems to have died of sweet bliss.
Great imagery, content, & form,
for chocolate is love, and we all
must have those days when
/tomorrow's repercussions
are forgotten/.
A great read! What a way to go...death by chocolate.
Fun turn. Satin was my first thought, but I can go with silk.
A great read, Laurie :)
I went a similar route, but without the recipe. Sounds pretty great. K.
Oh, yes, chocolate. Of course!
K
dark humor treat,
well shaped entry.
nicely done....thanks for sharing your words again
No other way to say it...this poem rocks! I love your take on the picture :-)
This took me by surprise - I wasn't expecting chocolate:-) Clever!
Just as well you skipped the first course!
Hmm, chocolate was an unexpected surprise in this one...at my age, probably my preference anyway! This poem was both sensuous and fun, which is always a great combo. Nicely written!
Playful, thanks!
Loved, loved the surprise ending!
Well, that was an unexpected twist. Very clever, Laurie! Thank you.
I love chocolate, period.
Great use of the prompt!
Delightfully delicious!
Well, we all have to go sometime..dipped in chocolate...rather be a truffle than a trifle...I know I'm not alone!
Super delicious Laurie ....
Love this, Laurie
A wonderful take Laurie! :-)
What's with all these chocolate as sex metaphors? Chocolate is sex, simple as that!
Loved it.
Just desserts!! Delicious. Thank you Laurie, for sharing your creativity and a scrumptious recipe too.
Seeing the other side of it is brilliant. Refreshingly real on occasions?
Hank
