Will the Heat Ever Cease?

Heavy air stifling hot
Every breath a taxing chore
As like a nasty summer cold
Toppling nerves crash to the floor

@laurie kolp

Prompt Inspiration: 3WW- cease, heat, nasty

I like your spare use of words to express the imagery in this poem, almost like a haiku. And I also enjoyed your interview on poetic bloomings and was really interested by the concept of "small stones" - I assume this is one of them.

When weather matches mood..sometimes you don't know if the discomfort is inside or out..you made this feel stickily claustrophobic..Jae

Great images. You have a flair for description and emotion. It gets difficult to tell where one ends and the other begins. I like that. Very good.

Temperature extremes really are the pits. You have captured heat very well indeed.

Phew! Know what you mean - we had 44C plus the other day; getting there again today too.

I like this! You've packed a lot in this acrostic poem, and I especially liked the comparison to a summer cold. I had a roof job to do today here in south Georgia--you described my day with accuracy!

Laurie, great take on the 3WW prompt. To the point... appropriate because, when you are suffering a summer cold, there's not much else to say. Hope you are better soon, hon. Amy
