Ike's invasion wiped us away
like a wolf huffing and puffing
it blew all the houses down
leaving nothing but vacant lots
and now I see a second shot
at happiness has begun with
plain white campers, no
vain colors- hot pink, lemon
lime or neon green- just
little homes with wheels
to escape; this vision, ethereal.

Fascinating write...haven't seen those hot pink or neon green campers yet. Definitely ethereal! I will be contemplating your topic!
Laurie, you depict the hope of new beginnings so wonderfully! Enjoyed. So much to feel behind the written..ethereal:)
Have a restful day, or hopefully, weekend:)
Thanks, Mary and Janet. The beach cabins were those bright colors. The campers were sitting on lots, hooked up to the electricity. This was the bay side. On the beach side it looked like a ghost town.
You have set the bar on exploring a unique dimension of the word 'ethereal': history and the lives of people caught within its endless loops of progress and regression.
Oh, I like this! Well done!
it is nice to see places come back to life after disaster...that is def something both material and spiritual....nice prompt as well....
Well Done Laurie! I'm more intrigued to try after reading yours :D
Fabulous and full of hope, Laurie. Unlike Ella, I'm glad I didn't read yours before submitting mine.

Enjoyed the read
Nothing more ethereal than mother nature and her aftermath. This one hits dirt again and again. Great job.
Loved the contrast in color, neons/white.

strong and tight verse, i really like this. it is so clear and true. really great!
I see hope springing up in those little homes ~
Nice one Laurie ~
I very much enjoyed your portrayal of a hurricane as a spiritual force. Very original! Viva la
Love the wolf, huffing and puffing, and the hopeful little rv's..........and "this vision, ethereal". Good one!
When is a camper not just a camper? When it brings hope with it, I guess. :-)
Beautifully composed, Laurie. Your photo captures the ethereal look of the place too. I must confess to sort of liking the gaudy colored beach houses though!
love the way you wove your word and new hope into the devastation Ike left behind
i like your exercise in color expression
