Magpie Tales Monday

Peace at Sea

Portals beckon;
dare I take the chance,
cross the gangplank to your soul?

Steady mast;
dare I trust my intuition,
bare my troubles to this sober one?

Serenity sails;
dare I hop aboard,
surf rocky water to sunny shore?

Everything cycles from rocky waters to sunny shore. Very lovely poem!

Mona Lisa described in nautical metaphor. Don't know how you came up with the concept...but you have pulled it off very well. This struck me as very clever. Vb

Thanks... I live my life in peace and serenity most of the time, but my muse is a different story.

I like how you linked your words to the scene behind the figure. I would have never seen the water otherwise.
A beautiful poem.

Beautiful metaphor. I love anything about the sea, but would not have thought of this perspective to look and sea the Mona Lisa. I like it very much tho.

You have handled the extended metaphor very well.
