Sick of Those Silly Ole' Love Songs

Put out your torch songs
Because I hate the way you lie
And love won’t keep us together
When you jilt me for a guy

Love is never deep enough
To build an endless bridge
It never feels like I’m in love
You push me off a ridge

Love often starts off as perfect, but, along the way, reveals its ugly imperfections. Beautifully captured.

Ahhh, to work through all the "toads" to find a "prince" is exactly that - WORK ... and still ... the sustainability of love with its imperfections and all is part of the key ...

Yeah, you can imagine how much fun it was to sing all those love songs (especially... aargh... "Feelings") when my love life sucked!!

Great take on the prompt, Laurie, but sorry you got pushed off the ridge. It gets better! Amy

It's my muse, not me... I could have related to this twenty years ago, but not now. I have the best husband in the world and we love each other very much. ; )
